As you explore the possibility of enrolling in a master's program in electrical engineering, your future career prospects may be at the top of your mind. A young electrical engineer named Tina Haley was recently honored by the Society for Women Engineers for her work with the Walt Disney Company. Now, that would be a cool job!

Tina is a senior electrical engineer who manages the technical side of the Disney theme parks. She designs new attractions, applies physics and engineering theories, and makes absolutely sure that each attraction complies with safety regulations.

Tina is also responsible for ongoing maintenance and safety for existing attractions at Disney theme parks. As an electrical engineer, she determines the testing requirements and frequency for the rides. She also checks each report for areas that might need closer attention.

Because Disney is a global company, Tina works with other electrical and mechanical engineers across the world. Her knowledge and excellent interpersonal skills make her a standout leader in a major multinational corporation.

Tina Haley arrived at this dream job by carefully planning her undergraduate and graduate education in engineering. She earned both her BS and MS degrees from the University of Central Florida, and worked as a research and development engineer for Lucent Technologies before going to work for Walt Disney in 2007.

She is also highly active in the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). Joining these types of professional organizations allows her to be a leader and to take advantage of mentoring opportunities and career development.

As you plan your own path from earning a master's degree in electrical engineering, remember that your dream job is only a few years away. You may not end up working for Disney World, but your EE career will be interesting!
